I mean seriously. If Best Buy doesn't shape up, they might run the same direction and that would just be sad. I'm okay with slightly inflated pricing due to brick-and-mortar. But seriously. When you can get it online for almost 2/3 the price, it starts getting outrageous. I think BB still has a shot to stick mainly because it's not crazy all the time. But who knows.

Re: Circuit City liquidation FAIL

Same thing happened when CompUSA "liquidated". I walked in the store, saw the same or slightly inflated prices and left. No way to go out of business if you ask me. I don't get it.

Re: Circuit City liquidation FAIL

Disclaimer- for a few weeks back in 99, I worked at CC in W-S. :)
That said, if you paid attention, there would be deals to be had and I never had a problem with them honoring the price match (match + 10%). Heck, they would even price match themselves. You just had to decide if it was worth your time to shop (and my answer is 99% of the time YES!). I also loved the option to order online and pick it up at the store. Best Buy is alright but I always liked CC better back in the day. However, CC decided to quit selling appliances and then get rid of anyone with a clue-- it was over at that point. They didn't drop their prices and people were smart enough not to pay more for no-service.
I went by the GSO CC today with Riley- I did get a couple of movies and cases because they just met my bare minimum, but the other items were not marked down at all. 10% is not a great discount especially when it is still cheaper across the street at Costco or up the street at BB or Sams. I just wanted to smack some sense into people- if you WAIT they will drop the price, but if you buy now they have no incentive. Grrr.
May check again later on for a couple of items that I'm guessing may still be in stock. They did have notes up they are still receiving new stock so *shrug*.
I'm glad to take advantage of the situation but sad that it has to come to this (for CC and tons of other companies).
